Montmartre

Compliment, ben voor het eerst in mijn leven in een gay bar geweest, sfeer, muziek entourage geweldig, heel warm gevoel van overgehouden, kom zeker weer terug met mijn gay friends, een hetero vrouw. Veel Laifs uut het noorden.

You cannot actually move in this bar, it takes literally minutes to meander your way to the bar or toilets but that definitely adds to the fun!! I was so excited that I left a gorgeous jacket in there, I'd be grateful if anyone knows their website or e-mail address?

Probably my favourite bar in the whole world! You can go there feeling down or miserable, and you never EVER leave without a smile on your face. The bar staff are gorgeous, the music is pure Amsterdam - what is there not to like? Oh, and for those who think it is odd to pay to pee, you even have to do that in McDonalds (!) so it isn't that strange...

nou ik kom er al 3 jaar en ik blijf het helemaal geweldig vinden de jongens achter de bar zijn geweldig net als de eigenaar hugo ondanks dat ik niet echt van de muziek hou weet ik me daar altijd te amuseren en heb ik het altijd gezellig en als er mensen zijn die niet tegen de drukte kunnen dan ga je maar lkkr naar de entre nous

Accidentally found myself in this bar on three occasions, and hated it every time. Music is WAY too loud, the lighting is horrible, the venue is too smokey, you have to pay to piss.... the only way this bar was voted "best gay bar" is if the owner paid people to vote for it. Urgh.

Uit vertrouwbare bron heb ik vernomen dat Hugo de titel beste gaybar koopt....en trouwens ook dat 2 jaar terug een van hun bar-medewerkers mister gay was geworden...alles dus omgekocht... want wat zo raar is dat Hugo later ruzie kreeg met deze mister gay en daarna geen enkele opdrachten meer kreeg van het modellenbureau waarin hij stond ingeschreven....(tevens het bureau die het mister-gay event organiseerde....)

This place prides itself to be voted best gaybar several years in a row. I can't make out why. You're lucky if you can move around in it during weekends. The music is played so loud, you can't understand what anybody is saying and, to top it all, you have to pay to go potty.
Music consists out of eurovision and other really commercial crap that nobody, except for the queeniest amongst us will ever have heard about.
If you are a closetqueen you might want to skip this place. They were intending to use this place for a reality soap not to long ago! Regular hang-out, or so it seems, of Dutch Z-list celebrities...run for shelter!

Montmartre is altijd leuk :-) net tweede huiskamer.

really cool, funny and friendly. the bar tenders beautiful. music 80's holland and international. kiss for marco, the barmaid I meet on last saturday. write me marco!!!

It is a very cossy and warm place. Even though i am not sure why it was voted as the best gay bar in town several years in a row, but one thing i can comment is: everybody seems very happy and cheerful there. That is what impressed me the most each time i went down there. The only weakness of this place is: the bar tenders are NOT very friendly and cheerful, seems carrying a bit of the attitude. This needs to be improved.

i have to agree with Michael, sometimes it's to crowded, and it would be nice if they didn't play the same sort of music everytime, but that's probaly why they are voted best bar everytime, a plus is that there not cheesy with the booze the serve :D

Really crowded, but fun atmosphere, typical gezellig, although not always on the way I like...
