great cruising place, nice hang out in summer

A good friend of mine was sadly beaten up in De Nieuwe Meer just two days ago so you never really know about this place. Luckily he only has had minor bruises from this most unfortunate incident!!!

From my personal experiences, this place is on the whole quite safe (there were some incidents though every now & then). I would however suggest not carrying any valuables or cash with you when you go there. The best time is whenever it is rather warm & dry from june until september. Have fun!!!

There are so many places for families and children, so why not stay away from this very small area which is so popular for adult men.
(I think the Stadsdeel made a huge mistake by developing the wrong part of De Oeverlanden as a family area with beaches. They should have developed the area which is used by men now. And the current family area should be left as it was before the renovation. This way the families would not have to cross the (naked/cruising) men area. But families can still use the bike path north of the cruising area.)
A (former?) gay friendly city needs some remote places for men to cruise and be naked.

And please keep in mind a lot of in-the-closet-men who are afraid to go to gay bars only have these cruising places to meet other men.

hi all. although i think it should be possible there are places like this, i'm wondering if you could take it into account it's also a place for children and families during the day. i really like the surroundings and lots of families with me. i know a lot of people avoiding the place more and more because of the children. i hope we (families & gays) can enjoy the place both, without shocking anyone.

Als groenmedewerker werk ik vanuit Stadsdeel Slotervaart in de Oeverlanden. Het is schandalig en respectloos om het natuurgebied zo ernstig te vervuilen met de rotzooi die de cruisende man achterlaat. Het is onverantwoord om een gedooggebied zo te vervuilen. Als homo schaam ik me voor dit genante gedrag om je condoom en andere rotzooi op de grond te gooien. Heb aub respect voor de natuur en de medewerkers en neem je rotzooi mee!

Pure hit or miss but it can be fun at times if one gets lucky! Involves lots and lots of walking in any case as it's really huge. Do wear outdoor shoes if you were to come here as it can be very muddy at times.

Gister nog een heerlijke trick gehad daar met een lekkere vent, die behoorlijk geschapen was....en pijpen dat'ie kon! Je moet alleen wel ff de 'drempel' over. Veel blijven maar lopen en rondrijden en afwachten, met als gevolg niets!
