Prik

Would just like to say that Prik is one of the few gay bars I like and what stands out for me most is how friendly and helpful the bar staff are. They make it the warm, welcoming place it is. (That and the great decor, friendly crowd, fab cocktails, alternative music....)

As a regular in Prik who knows all the staff quite well, I can say with certainty that each member of the Prik staff is honest, hard-working and (most of all) motivated to make people have a nice time in Prik. Everyone can make a mistake and if I would suspect the staff in a bar gave me eiter too little or too much change back, I would settle it with the staff directly, rather than not saying anything, and then complain about it on a review website.

Here at Prik we take all comments seriously and I therefore would ask "to some prikboys and owners" to contact us directly at prikpost@prikamsterdam.nl with more information about his visit. Our philosophy at Prik has always revolved around reliable, friendly and honest customer service. This is what we are recognised for the most and why we continue to receive awards nominated by our customers and clients. If we were to turn a blind eye or endorse such dishonest behave as you believe you witnessed then we would not be in business for very long. I can only assume that there is some mistake that occurred here. Our staff are long standing, honest and loyal and treat Prik as their home and not just a place of work. They invest as much as we do in the environment of Prik and its longstanding good reputation. To make such a dishonest gesture as you mentioned does not resonate well with either us as the owners or our staff. I would ask that in future any such incident is brought to the attention to the manager / owner on charge at the time of the incident and not brought to our attention through a review site. Then we would be able to address the problem / mistake and resolve it immediately. I ask that "to some prikboys and owners" takes the time to talk to other customers of Prik. I am sure they would be able to give you a better impression of our staff than the words I can write here as an owner. We would welcome you back at any time and be happy to show you the true Philosophy and reputation of Prik.

Nice atmosphere in this bar, with a friendly and mixed crowd. But I do agree with the customer before me ( and no I am not frustrated ) with 'unreliable staff' ( but friendly ). To specify (and owners you would not like to have a bar which is known for your unreliable staff, do you?) I paid with a 20 Euro's biljet, and after glances and subtile handgestures and very fast money change ( which confused me at the moment ) I got change back from ten Euro's, which I gave as a tip. At that moment I knew something was not right, but the two boys seemed so cute, I thought they never would do such a money trick. I knew exactly how much money I had with me, cause I just cashed money from the machine, before I visited Prik on June the tird '11) there was indeed a shortage of ten Euro's....it's a shame for such a nice place like that and a shame of personal integrity.

My advise: Visit Prik and be hyper aware and otherwise try to talk to the owners; as an owner I would'nt tolerate corrupt people working for me....

I do not expect perfect staff, but reliable staff.

"disappointed visitor" at the bottom of this comment thread is so transparently a psuedonym for "envious competing bar owner who's too fucking lazy/stupid to offer his customers anything near as good as the terrific PRIK" Congratulations guys on adding to your success with BUMP: you are saving Amsterdam from the likes of those I described above who dragged GLBT nightlife into the ground for so many years

Popular with many of my friends and a good place to spend time. Main age group between 30 and 50, nice and chatty. Good music, helpful staff, broad drinks menu (including collection of ciders and it has prosecco on tap). Not very looks oriented (and - how superficial of me - that may be the reason why this bar is not my personal favorite...). Mixture of reguliers and warmoesstraat crowd who just want to go for a drink and see friends/friendly people.

Just came back from Amsterdam and must admit was impressed by the ambiance at the Prik . Nice music , Small Dance floor and staff friendly.As a bisexual i would highly recommend this bar. Lots of talking on the street ( the bar was full on saterday night). Friendly atmosphere, Mixed customers from Lesbians to gays, and cheap drinks. well nothing more to add apart that i will come back defenitly on my next stop in Amsterdam

Another great stop in Amstedam. If you prefer the smaller more intimate venues off of the main strips, then Prik is your kind of place too. The owners are great as well as the staff and they have great snacks and cheap beer on Monday nights! Seriously, just go check it out any night of the week, you won't regret it.

I must agree that Prik is one of the few bars where the people who are working there are really enjoy what they are doing. Most barstaff in other bars are ok and friendly, but still see it as a job. The guys of Prik really love their bar and their work. So i totally can't find something true in the remark of "Disappointed Visitor".

As we take al critics seriously I want to ask 'disappointed visitor' to send us an e-mail (prikpost@prikamsterdam.nl) to explain what he means exactly as this comment is quite hurtful.. Ofcourse we are not perfect but good service and nice helpfull staff is one of the main reasons why people enjoy PRIK so much. thanks.

i come in prikbar often and service is always good or excellent so i would surely recommend people to have a visit. The reaction of "disappointed Visitor"i cannnot understand and think it is because he is little frustrated

Very bad service, unreliable staff. Would not advice people to visit Prik.
